Two historic items in this photo that are not long for this world; the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey "Red Unit" circus train, running as NS 048, rolls under the old Southern cantilever signals in Concord, NC. The RBBB circus, which has dazzled audiences across America for 146 years, will play its final show on May 21, 2017 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Collesium. The old signals will also be retired sometime this year, likely within the next couple months. The mast for the new PTC-compliant "Vader" style signals is standing just out of frame to the left of the photo.
