The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum's prized 4-4-0 No. 25, an 1856 Mason Machine Works survivor is seen here at the Museum's back shop undergoing its mandatory 1472 service inspection and overhaul. Captured here during one of the Museum's limited back shop tours in October of 2016. No. 25 has worn many colors during her illustrious career and appears likely to wear yet another upon her return. The livery here is an accurate, albeit, unfinished paint scheme that was discovered hiding underneath previous layers of paint. Unfortunately, the work is purely cosmetic as the inspection revealed that No. 25 will need a new crownsheet before a return to operation.
