Former Reserve Mining SD18 No. 1229 idles quietly in the afternoon sun at the Western Milling facility in Famoso as the silhouette of a CAT wheel loader pours grain into a tractor trailer in the background. Moving from Reserve Mining to Power Source Supply Inc., the unit was sold to Western Milling for its service as a grain elevator switcher here in Famoso in November of 2006. Despite being locked into working only a few miles of track, this unit still has it's original light package intact...although it likely hasn't seen operation for a number of years.
