Sometimes when extra empty covered hoppers came into Mason City off the Marquette Trains, an extra job would be called to go out and spot them. As is the case with this job this day. Here the extra local pulls up to Britt FCC to spot 25 cars. Not much for power around Mason City, so some junk stuff was thrown together just to get the cars out here. While it neat from this angle, the 613/614 weren't some I enjoyed from the inside. Old 24L brake was completely old school and foreign to me.
