Remarks & Notes

As the mist gets blown off of the Pacific Ocean on to the rusty, steel rails, of the former Southern Pacific Coast Route, a pair of EMD motors race south along the shore of Emma Wood State Beach, just north of Ventura, Calif. at sunset. The two armor yellow locomotives hustle an empty auto train for Nogales, Ariz after following most of the Pacific Coast Line from San Luis Obispo. The hill side that follows the railroad and US Highway 101 has a yellow color to it, due to the record rains this winter for California; creating a super bloom.
