In a scene that takes place twice a week, Union Pacific's northbound LOF67 skirts the Pacific Ocean at Emma Wood State Beach as it leaves Ventura behind for its trip up the coast to Guadalupe, Calif. Today's train, among the usual suspects bound for interchange with the Santa Maria Valley Railroad, includes a flat car with a pair of new John Deere tractors that will quickly be put to work in the rich, agriculture fields of Santa Maria. It's been said before and I'll say it again - drones have opened the door to an entirely new perspective on railroad photography.
