A friend and I set up to shoot Conrail local WJAL-18 crossing the ex-CNJ bridge over the Delaware River at Phillipsburg, New Jersey, an infrequent occurrence in 1983. Unbeknownst to us, the consist included a car for a facing-point siding in Phillipsburg, so the train crossed the bridge pushing the car, which it had run around in Easton. Near our vantage point, the power left the train on the bridge and proceeded to spot the car out of sight. Some redemption occurred when the power returned to retrieve the train, as seen here passing Union Station in Phillipsburg.
Photographs where trains and people mix, weather it's street running, plant switching or carrying a unit grain train out of an elevator, it will be put here.
