A very late running excursion from Portland Oregon to Bend Oregon and return, with Southern Pacific No. 4449 leading, crosses the Crooked River Bridge in the evening. 100 degree temps, heat related medical emergency's, and balky air conditioning were some of the issues the helped make for long days.
