A very off schedule BNSF freight heads up the Surf Line at San Clemente behind a pair of Tier 4 GEs. Westbound freights typically pass through here in the late evening hours, but today's train offered a nice exception to the rule.
Tier IV locomotives are the safest, cleanest, and most fuel efficient locomotives on the rails today. Unfortunately, most of them are ugly and are as quiet as an ACS-64.
