It's the hottest time of the year, so cool off with this chilly image of an Alaska Railroad lumber drag departing Seward on a late February morning. Recent snowstorms have dumped several feet of snow on the surrounding mountains, which is almost unthinkable to this desert dweller. Freight service to Seward is rare, and I got really lucky to catch freight movement, and in daylight to boot.
