Georgia Northeastern GP10 7529, a rebuilt former NYC GP9, rests near downtown Blue Ridge on a Sunday morning. This is one of two GNRR locomotives painted for the Blue Ridge Scenic operation, although it is not unusual for the excursion train to be powered by any locomotive from the GNRR freight pool (as it was the day of this photo). The Blue Ridge Scenic operates excursions along the Toccoa River on the former L&N “Hook and Eye” line between Blue Ridge and McCaysville, GA.
