NS 282 (Jacksonville,FL-Chicago,IL) lean into the curve on the main 2 track while climbing Howardsville grade on the north side of Cohutta, GA (MP-25.5H) on the NS Atlanta North-End. The critical run Intermodal train was one of many that manage to depart Jacksonville, FL a day in advance before the massive Hurricane Irma was set to make land fall the following day. With that being said Norfolk Southern had put out a bulletin to Intermodal customers that they would still be running Intermodal trains, but would stretch its run time due to the significant weather event that would effect the ports in the southeastern seaboard. NS 282 is being led by a pair of UP AC44CW which the led motor is an ex: Chicago & Northwestern motor now dressed in the Union Pacific paint scheme.
