        Remarks & Notes
        Westbound Lakeshore Convergence (2)

After both westbound Lakeshore sections, VIA Rail Trains 53 and 43, arrived in Brockville, Ontario from Montreal and Ottawa, respectively. The train from Montreal crossed over into the siding behind the station. After a Canadian National SW1200RS follows Train 53 into the “pocket”, Train 42 pulls onto the CN main as seen here. As Train 43 makes its station stop, the CN switcher will pull Train 53’s cars out of the siding and attach them to the rear of train 43 for the journey to Toronto.

The track going straight away from the photographer is a CP line that curves off to the left in the distance and ducks under the CN main line to reach a wye. After the station activity dies down, the power from Train 53 will proceed to be turned on the wye, so it is positioned to take the eastbound Lakeshore to Montreal in an hour.
