| The calm solitude along the south branch of the Patapsco River is interrupted as a 4-8-4 storms west on the Baltimore & Ohio’s Old Main Line near Sykesville, Maryland. The train is a Chessie Safety Express excursion from Baltimore to Martinsburg, West Virginia. Passengers were given the option of detraining in the Civil War town of Harpers Ferry. |
