| On a hot afternoon in August 1988, SP 9380 East, a long drag that appears tp have originated in the Pacific Northwest, climbs through the giant s-curve on the approach to tunnel 2. Cut in mid-train is an all-EMD helper doing its part to lift this heavy manifest up the 2.2 percent grade. |
