    Remarks & Notes
Top Ten of 2017. With 2017 in the books, here's a look back at my Top 10 favorite shots from the past year.
    8. The announcement late in 2016 that Southern Pacific 4-8-4 4449 would be making a trip to Bend, OR, for the first time in 5 years had us planning a long weekend trip that saw me returning to a West Coast state for the first time in 30+ years.
After flying in and scouting the Deschutes River canyon on Friday, we knew this shot high above one of the twin bridges a few miles north of Maupin was a must-have on Saturday's southbound run to Bend.

The Oregon Trunk, the route most well known for the Deschutes Railroad War, still sees BNSF-and at times detouring UP-traffic today. This album covers all images taken along the line between Celilo and Chemult, Oregon.
