Early in the morning, Santa Fe 9519 East climbs the gentle grade at Double A, AZ, on the railroad's Williams-Crookton Line Relocation. Santa Fe built the new line well north of the old line through cramped Johnson Canyon in 1960. The minimum curvature on the new line is a max of one degree, far less than what the old line featured.
