    Remarks & Notes
The Mount Lahaska Cog-less Railway, or...
Cogs? We don't need to stinking cogs, lol.

This is the view from the top of the crest at Lahaska, PA, the steepest grade along the former Reading Company right of way between New Hope and Lahaska at the NH&I Railroad. In this scene, No 40, a 2-8-0 Consolidation, has run around her train and prepares for the return trip, pulling the train tender first, back to the town of New Hope, in Pennsylvania.

Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.

A far cry from the common wedgie ... and particularly well executed.
