A long abandoned hopper and a steel box car sit frozen in time, serving as a time capsule preserving a part of Mount Union's past. That is, so long as someone, or some group, remains in a position to guarantee protection of both the site and its rolling stock for future generations. A sole tank car, one of two in the yard can be seen here. Sadly, all (a dozen or so)l US Army standard gauge wooden WW I era box cars that were on the property were scrapped in December of 2013, though the trucks were kept for any potential buyers.
