So many things have gone into the history books with this scanned slide from 1998. The power is all gone, the railroads are gone, the steel coal cars gone out of coal service, the IEI coal contract for East Dubuque is gone, the west end of the siding here at Earlville gone, and the signals are gone too. One thing about the railroad, wait 5 minutes, it will change. Hard to believe in just 20 years! Here we have a CCP coal train blowing thru the west end of the Earlville Siding around 37 miles west of Dubuque in eastern Iowa.
