| The cans are finally moving through Santa Barbara after numerous delays. First PTC problems halted them west of Santa Barbara. After talking to the PTC desk and Dispatcher they received permission to proceed. On the move again and on track 2 to meet No. 14, the northbound Coast Starlight, they went into emergency for a trespasser on the track. They told the dispatcher they were going to walk the train. UP maintenance workers escorted the trespasser off the property. No. 14 went by and they waited to follow southbound Surfliner 782. No sooner than 782 passes than here is the trespasser standing in the middle of track 2 again. This time the police are called and the person taken away. Finally UP 5495 can resume pulling southbound. Just another day on the railroad. |
