| The Sunday Waterloo Switcher had a slow day so they headed out to Vinton with 2 cars to spot on the branch. The crew is a couple miles south of Bryant Yard as they pass this old ex-Rock Island ABS signal only a 1/2 mile from where I grew up watching Iowa Northern trains as a kid. I haven't gotten many trains southbound out of Waterloo in daylight over the years, so even though its small, glad to have a hour free to get this odd move. Hard to believe where this railroad has gone the past 35 years! A few old ABS signals still can be found along the line from Manly to Cedar Rapids. |
