| Rival makes meet. Siemens Velaro e320 Eurostar set No 374 028 comes down the Nashenden Valley from the North Downs tunnel forming the 07.56 Brussels Midi to St.Pancras service. In the opposite direction a pair of Hitachi Javelin units Nos 395 022 and 014 pass forming the 08.12 St.Pancras to Margate service at a closing speed of nearly 300 mph (480 kph). The difference in the British loading gauge of the Javelin can clearly be seen compared to the continental gauge Velaro unit. |
