Threading a cut east of Marcel, a Santa Fe 991 train powered by four-axle Dash 8s roars upgrade toward the string of short tunnels that will take it to Cable. Symbol 991 was one of Santa Fe's hottest, covering the vast distance between Richmond, CA and Chicago on a 56-hour schedule.
