| BNSF 7073 hits the crossing at Coal Creek Canyon on a hazy day as it heads into the Colorado foothills. The facility you see in the upper right is the National Wind Technology Center at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Boulder, Colorado. They test different kinds of windmills and it is the nation’s premier wind energy, water power, and grid integration research facility. The California fires have created hazy conditions along the Colorado Front Range for nearly three weeks now. |
