Basking in the evening light at Redondo Junction, the latest series of passenger locomotive technology stands ready to enter service in Southern California as an old guard, an ex-Santa Fe Railway canteliver signal bridge, continues to stand sentinel in the background. Although no longer active, the stories this signal bridge could tell seeing trains pulled from steam to these SC-44's is something that is worth remembering.
