      Remarks & Notes
Alabama Southern's Artesia, Ms -Tuscaloosa, Al train traverses the wooden trestle over the Black Warrior River as it eases slowly ending its journey into Tuscaloosa. A print of this was enlarged and given to the engineer and conductor on the train. They yelled down to me that they wanted one so I obliged them. Since this time, the foreground has been covered with power poles and lines so I'm glad that I caught it before that. This line was originally laid by the Mobile & Ohio. From there the line has seen numerous owners through mergers, buy outs and leases. The M&O merged with the Gulf Mobile & Northern to become the GM&O. From there the line went from GM&O hands to ICG, then to the Gulf & Mississippi. G&M was bought by MidSouth. In 1994 MSRC fell into KCS's grip. 10 years later KCS leased the line to Watco to form the Alabama Southern. So yeah....she's seen alot of owners but has fairly remained the same through the years with yet another exception. Originally the line ran from the junction point of Artesia, MS to Montgomery, AL. During its years of ICG control, it was pulled up south from Tuscaloosa to Montgomery
