| The DJ class was built by Mitsubishi in 1968-69 and several are operated by Dunedin Railways. Due to fire suppression regulations for a long tunnel north of Dunedin, 1209 and a sister are pilots for English Electric built DG 772 and DI 1102 hauling a Steam Incorporated train up the long 2% grade. |
