| A short timer Q611 hustles through Opelika with 6500 feet of train as it passes the iconic coal tower from the steam days of railroading. The yellow diamond on the right is a CSX speed limit sign which prompts trains to slow to 30MPH for a short duration as they cross the diamond with NS. That speed is easily accomplished by any heavy northbound train since they are enduring an 0.84% ascending grade going north. |
