    Remarks & Notes
It's a beautiful morning in the state, and the James River is running a tad high after some nasty thunderstorms rolled through the night before. Still facing residual delays from a derailment a few days prior, the Auto Train rolls north across the James River Bridge about 3 hours late with the usual P40DC pair.

Amtrak's longest train takes passengers and their vehicles on an overnight trip between Florida and the Northeast while eliminating 850 miles of driving. It is popular with snowbirds and families.

The GE Genesis series are well known for being Amtrak's locomotive. With confirmation of retirement from Amtrak themselves, their time is limited. Now is your chance to catch them before the chargers arrive!
