    Remarks & Notes
Sunset for the Southwest Chief- With the evening sky darkening, the last Superliner of the eastbound Southwest Chief streaks by the only wig-wag crossing signal in service on a Class I Railroad in the United States. With proposed changes at Amtrak and the implementation of PTC looming on the horizon, the days of both train and crossing signal may be numbered.

Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.

A far cry from the common wedgie ... and particularly well executed.
