| The snow really came down this Thursday morning but unfortunately the railroad had to stop for 2 hours while the dispatcher setup a path for Amtrak's eastbound California Zephyr. The BNSF has put in a few CTC crossovers on the Ottumwa Sub between Creston and Galesburg to allow for better flexibility with the numerous miles of ABS territory. With that the railroad will shutdown few times a day for Amtraks and Z-trains priority. At CP 3818, east of Afton, 2 east and 2 west waited for Amtrak to crossover at 10:06. Now traffic is back moving and this empty will slowly make their way the last 13 miles to Creston for a crew change. |
