| Loaded coal for the power plant at Terrell, NC, passes over the Russell Fork of the Big Sandy River at Elkhorn City. In a 2x2 DP setup, 4 GE locomotives work these 108 loads down the Big Sandy and Kingsport Subs enroute from Russell to Kingsport and the next crew change point. This train was loaded at the Bailey Mine along the old Monongahela Railroad in southwestern Pennsylvania. The train is about to go from old C&O trackage to the Clinchfield trackage here at Elkhorn City. |
