| "Near Completion at Springfield"
A CTrail train prepares to head south off of Track 6 on it's last run for the night adjacent to the near completed Platfrom C at Springfield Union station. Springfield Union Station was originally constructed in 1926 by the Boston & Albany Railroad, but recently underwent a huge renovation project and was reopened in 2017 as the regions intermodal transit hub. The only renovation work that remains is the station platforms. Platform C is the first which serves trains on Tracks 4 and 6. Once completed, these high-level platforms will allow easier boarding & alighting for rail passengers. |
