After easing through the town of Bridgeport, the 8k long northbound CSX Q512-09 (Waycross,GA-Avon,IN) is on its segment for Nashville, but before the train could get out of the northeast Alabama, the train will make to make a stop at Widows Creek Yard to set-off a block of cars that Q512 picked up at Wauhatchie. Once this move is completed, the massive freight will continue north for the trek to Avon. 8k plus freight is common on the Chattanooga Sub and the ever-changing PSR-practice is settling in as a norm on CSX. Long distance freights like Q512 are handling road local jobs where they make pick-up and set-off at certain location cutting out certain local jobs, and certain short distance road local. I’m guessing slimming down the way that railroad doing business is only benefit the shareholders, honestly, it’s a waste of money in my opinion.
