| Both of this train series of the LNER (London North Eastern Railway) will soon disappear from London Kings Cross station, and will be replaced by the new Hitachi built "AZUMA" class 800/1. On the left Mark 4 Driving Van Trailer (DVT) 82 # 209 of train 1Y05 which arrived from Newcastle shortly, with an electric locomotive of class 91 in the rear. On the right diesel power car 43 # 274 (former 43 # 074) of the "HST125" train 1N81 to York departure at 09.06 h. The LNER operates 32 of this class 43 power cars with MAN prime movers. Both trains shown here are operating with up to 125 mph (201 km/h) on the East Coast Mainline. |
