New England Central continues to recover from last month's CN strike and traffic levels remain extremely high. Cold weather and snow cause some delays to switching, throwing the normally nocturnal trains into daylight. On December 20, NECR 600 crew, the White River Jct. local crew, is on board the 324 train bound for Claremont, NH and a crew change to take the train to Palmer, MA. The train is led by NECR SD40M-2s 3474, 3475, SD40T-2 3317, SD40M-2 3476 and newly arrived GP38-2 2151 as they cross the Sugar River Trestle at Claremont, NH.
