Simmering - The Valley Railroad's three operating steam locomotives simmer near the Essex, Connecticut shops after a full evening of pulling sold-out North Pole Express trains. The three are in order of age, with 40 being the oldest, 97 a few years junior, and 3025 the baby of the fleet.
