Remarks & Notes

A westbound Conrail freight powered by a pair of GP40-2s sprints past Judd Tower at La Porte, Indiana, on a cold February 25, 1990. The Pere Marquette Railway (Chesapeake & Ohio) crossed New York Central (Conrail) here, but CSX ripped up the PM line in 1988. At the date of this photo, the tower itself doesn’t have long in this world either.
