After acquiring Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern Railway in 1982, Soo Line operated a passenger special from Humboldt Yard in Minneapolis to Northfield and return in September 1984. Leading the train was Minnesota Transportation Museum’s Northern Pacific 4-6-0 No. 328, seen in this view with the southbound train steaming over Minnetonka Boulevard in Minneapolis.
