It’s a gloomy day on the Southern Great Plains, where Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway GP60 8711 and GP39-2R 2811 sit between assignments. These two EMD Geeps, built 25 years apart, still wear the colors of their previous owners: BNSF 8711 is the former Santa Fe 4011, and BNSF 2811 is the ex-Burlington Northern 2811, which was BN GP30 2204 before that, and originally Great Northern 3004.
