Trundling along the shore of a prairie lake on August 28, 2018, a southbound Dakota, Missouri Valley & Western coal train gets underway after departing Coal Creek Junction passing through Falkirk, North Dakota. The smoke and steam rising in the background is from Great River Energy’s power plant located on DMV&W’s spur out out Coal Creek Junction.
