| NS 294 is off-schedule in this photo as it enters New Jersey from Pennsylvania on Norfolk Southern's Lehigh Line early in the morning. At the time of this photo, the normal schedule for NS 294 would feature it travelling through New Jersey in the evening or late evening hours. The leader was rebuilt from NS 8994 (C44-9W) in June of 2019. Behind the leader is NS 1144 (SD70ACe). Note the black patch around the leader's headlights; this is a feature only seen on a select number of the AC44C6M rebuilds. 31 of the 42 locomotives rebuilt by Wabtec/GE in Erie, PA feature this black patch around the headlights: NS 4175 through NS 4197 and NS 4203 through NS 4210. |
