It was the morning of Aug 14, 2020 around 5am or so the southbound massive CSX Q581-13 (Nashville,TN-Hamlet,NC) was making it's journey south on the Western & Atlantic til the train ran 35 cars into the ground. Fast forward to the evening hours that same day an army of CSX, and RJ Corman Maintenance of Way recovery team is on the scene clearing up the wreckage, and get the mainline back together for operation. Luckily the derailment happened in a section of Bartow county that was rural instead of a few miles south in the downtown area of Kingston, GA. We may never know what was the true cause of this derailment, but the event is going to the talk of the area at least for a while. John Kirk Image. .
