      Remarks & Notes
As the last days of May 2020 approached, so did the end of the Central Maine & Quebec Railway as we knew it. Having just made six years of operation, they would be bought by another railroad that had been instrumental in Maine 25 years before. Canadian Pacific would once again be a key player in the rail scene of the Pine tree State, and they would finalize their purchase of CMQ on June 4, 2020. About a week before the "big day", Central Maine & Quebec pulled off something they were not in the habit of doing before. That was running a matched set of their company colored GP38-3s down the Searsport Branch. As a matter of fact, it had never happened before in the company's entire existence. Even with local knowledge of the pre-planned move being rather sparse, word got out and led to thick coverage of the run even though it happened on a Thursday. I was working in the area but was able to bag both ends of the run which passed right by the crossing in front of my house in Frankfort, Maine. While most others continued on to Stream Road at the top of town, a handful opted for the bridge shot over Loggin Road. Thickening high clouds had filtered much of the sun out, and that made it possible for us to shoot the "dark side" of the train in late Spring colors. We'd follow the return run all the way to Hermon, but everything beyond here was strictly a bonus.
