| A faded General Electric locomotive is seen leading the daily Waycross, Georgia to Montgomery, Alabama mixed freight through downtown Cairo on a sunny Fall day. CSX 253 was delivered in 1996 to work in the coal mines of Kentucky and West Virginia. Age and a decline in Eastern coal has regulated these older units to work locals and mixed freight trains. |
