| Black diamonds are a railroad's best friend. Unit coal trains on the CSX Fitzgerald Sub were, at one time, a staple. Natural gas prices and environmental concerns have caused the coal trains destined for Florida to dwindle to just a few a day. This loaded coal train bound for Palatka, Florida passes ties laid out for an upcoming maintenance blitz along the high tonnage Fitzgerald Subdivision. |
