Liberty Limited. On December 11, 2010, the Army v Navy annual football game took place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Juniata Terminal Railroad (JCTX) former Pennsylvania Railroad E8As 5711 and 5809 lead a train of 18 private cars to a siding near the field where passengers disembarked to watch the game, seen here passing the SEPTA station in Folcroft, Pennsylvania on the Amtrak Northeast Corridor Line. These were not ordinary private varnish passengers, however. Most were wounded veterans and their families, treated like VIPs for the day to honor their sacrifice in service to the country. This would be the 3rd and to date final time that the special operated. And while the vast majority fo Army-Navy games have been played in Philadelphia is a sort of mid-point between West Point, New York and Annapolis, Maryland, the 2020 game will be played at Michie Stadium at West Point in order to avoid complications with COVID-19 related restrictions.
