BNSF Priority UPS-LTL Intermodal train Z-MEMLAC7-15 (Memphis TN to Los Angeles CA), passing through Verdemont as it comes off Cajon Pass, has an interesting engine in its consist. Spliced between ES44DC 7824 and ET44C4 3923 is former Santa Fe Dash 9-44CW 693, still wearing its original 26-year-old "Superfleet" red and silver paint job! ATSF 693 was delivered one year before the Santa Fe merged with the Burlington Northern in September 1995, and while the colors look fairly worn, they are still a welcome sight among the predominantly orange and black BNSF diesels.
