| The first major rain storm of the year hit the Santa Barbara Subdivision from Los Posas to San Luis Obispo. Hitting Ventura just before sunset, it pours down on the Guadalupe hauler at Seacliff. Water and a mudslide over the tracks at Surf closed down the railroad. The repercussions of the storm were felt by Amtrak no. 11, the southbound Coast Starlight to the north of the closure and northbound Pacific Surfliner no. 777 to SLO to the south along with the Guad. All trains were stopped. |
